Nahlah Ayed – An award-winning journalist, Nahlah Ayed is currently a CBC Television news correspondent based in Beirut, Lebanon.
Gail Asper – One of Canada’s most distinguished community leaders and philanthropists, Gail Asper is the champion behind the drive to establish the Canadian Museum for Human Rights in Winnipeg.

Martin Brotman – A renowned gastroenterologist and internal medicine researcher, educator and practitioner, Martin Brotman has received numerous commendations for his contributions to the field of gastroenterology.
Sister Elizabeth Davis – Sister Davis has led a life of outstanding contribution to the public through her work as an educator, inspirational speaker and effective health care administrator in Newfoundland.
John Herbert Dirks – A distinguished doctor, educator and scientist, John Dirks has been recognized around the world for his kidney research and academic leadership.
Mark I. Greene – A pioneering cancer researcher, Mark Greene has made significant discoveries that have led to new chemotherapy and radiation therapy treatments.
David Naylor – Currently serving as President of the University of Toronto, David Naylor is an accomplished researcher and educator who played a leading role in creating the Public Health Agency of Canada.
Jim Derksen – A wheelchair user disabled by polio, Jim Derksen has been a champion for the rights of disabled people in Canada for decades.
Kenneth Standing – Internationally renowned for innovations in the field of time-of-flight mass spectrometry as it relates to biomolecules, Kenneth Standing is an accomplished researcher and educator.
Muriel Smith – A passionate advocate for human rights and gender equity, Muriel Smith is respected for her efforts on behalf of social justice around the world.
Freda Ahenakew – An acclaimed researcher, scholar and pioneer in Cree literacy and language teacher, Freda Ahenakew is recognized as a champion in preserving the oral traditions of her people.
Arni Thorsteinson – President of Shelter Canada Properties Limited, Arni Thorsteinson has played a leading role in building and supporting the Winnipeg business and cultural communities.
Wanda Koop – A graduate of the University of Manitoba’s School of Art, Wanda Koop is one of Canada’s most distinguished and inventive artists.
François Ricard – Professor of literature at McGill University, François Ricard is one of the foremost authorities on Gabrielle Roy, one of Canada’s greatest and most beloved authors.
